tryin the tex

so, me and texas? we don't get along. I need somebody (maybe someone who isn't ... texan-biased?) to give me some reasons why I shouldn't completely and TOTALLY LOATHE Texas.

And I don't want to hear any texan tooting gun shooting mouth offs who think Texas should be it's own country and is the greatest thing God ever put on the earth because that's exactly why I don't like texas.

If Mexico and China ever gang up on the US, I'm going to GIVE them Texas. For free. In fact, I've even thought about giving Texas away to ANYONE else because I don't like it that much.

Can anyone help me feel happy when I think of Texas?
As happy as I feel when I hear Enya?

I'd really appreciate it. I won't bad mouth it ever again if I can find one reason.

ahahahah Jackie this is the best post ever. Grant's from Texas and so are all our friends out here (because the boys all originated from Texas) anyways long story short: I'll never hear the end of it. He LOVES Texas and I can't understand why! It's awful! It's hot and it's flat and it's ugly and it's deserty and it's brown and it's HOT and there's no fall colors and there's no changing of seasons and football is the most important thing on the planet down there and....Grant really wants to move back there and I don't. So I've been having the same dilemma. I've been trying to see why Texas could possibly maybe be a good thing? But I haven't figured out how yet. I'll let you know if I do!

I felt the same way, until I met my husband. He and his family lived in Texas for like seven years, and while they love Texas, they're not obsessed, and they're like the nicest people ever. Granted, I think a lot of Texas deserves its bad rep. When I meet someone nice and humble, and find out they're from Texas, I always think "Hm. I never would have guessed."
