Well folks, I am back in utah, and back to saying "folks" which is something that totally comes from being around my mom. Brandon had his first day of school at UVU he even rode the bus all by hisself. (so cute).
It's visiting places like sandy eggo that beg me to ask myself why I live somewhere bitterly cold in the wintertime. We got off the plane and went to our long term parking to find the car dead (and even though that was my fault i'm blaming utah), and then we couldn't get up the driveway when we got home (not my fault). Utah, you are beautiful and terrible and warmer than Rexburg Idaho. Thank you Jesus.
I have a memorycardload of photos from vacation but I can't find my cord. This morning we went outside and found two brown eggs from our little red hen in her little coop! We are so proud. Seriously. I need to take pictures of the disaster our house is and the hen and dash- he is getting so big I can't even believe it. I'll wait to take pics of the coop until it is ready because we only have it primed for the pretty red paint and cream trim!
It's a good thing this house has a dishwasher and three sets of washers and dryers otherwise I'm not sure what I would be doing today besides unpacking. Peanut is getting so big (my front.) and we see her officially again to "find out the sex" even though we already did (tee hee!) on friday at my new OBG's office. I'm not sure how I feel yet about having a guy for my OB but a lot of women do, so I shouldn't worry too much about it. I just keep thinking about the old guy I had before I got married and how uncomfortable he was. Plus I like the girl talk and general frankness that women OBs have. In my limited experience.
Juan is upstairs building a doorway from our section of the house to the bathroom and peanuts room. It's a disaster there too. I'm afraid I'm gonna step on a nail.
This house is really weird, during the day it is almost completely silent, but during the nighttime brandon and I wake up all night to the strangest sounds (this is in spite of a loud fan AND earplugs for me). I don't even think brandon slept last night, everytime I woke up he was sitting up looking around (kind of a nice switch for me). It sounds like people are walking through the house at night or hitting things. In my brainscicle, I know this is the furnace and other things I'm not aware of yet- but seriously it is freaky. I told brandon I think the house is haunted. Maybe it's just too big for us.
Today I sold my vintage cream desk that I restored and re-papered. I'm kind of sad to see it go but at least it's going somewhere cool. It had a rough time getting here from rexburg... so it needs a repainting and some love but- I sure am going to miss it, and I remember what a hideous wreck it was when I first got it.
As for new years resolutions- along the train of thought "restoring old ugly wrecks"- brandon and me have decided that we are going to use a reward system to be successful. And I honestly think it will work. When I was little, a dentist came and spoke at school and gave us a brushing calendar and stickers, and if we brushed and flossed every single day three times a day we got a cool electric toothbrush and you can bet your freaking minted dollar that I had a sticker on every single day for that month. I didn't have a cavity until I was 16. Anyways. So I'm making a chart for scripture reading and exercise for me, and I'm going to find super awesome star stickers and smiley faces for my chart.
also, my in-laws gave us season tickets to Hale Theater and I am so excited because that's the perfect date night!
Welp, gotta go run to get brandon from his first day of school (the bus system stops at 6 here I think) and then I made homemade chili for dinner (thanks mom) hope it turns out alright...
