I want to buy a red toy box but it's thirty dollars and it's vintage (and having restored vintage things, I know you can make like 60 times what you paid for the item yourself- sometimes it's even free and then you make people pay for the labor too and in the end you watch that person driving away with your beautiful desk for some hip new private girl's school computer lab and you still think that 100 bucks wasn't enough for it. i'm serious.) and I need it to be coral pink instead. or yellow. or green... can you have reds and pinks together? It never bothered me but I do know people that it drives crasy!
Also, I need help finding the cutest stuffed animal in the whole world for grace.
Also, my dad came up with the best thing ever- I need to find a place that will do a vinyl decal for the wall in circus font that says AMAZING with an arrow pointing down and i'm going to stick it behind Grace's crib.
And then when Penelope is born (penny) I forgot what he came up with to put over her crib but he likes the name penny better than grace and the whole time we were vacaying in california he called peanut Penny.
I just told him I'm pretty sure this is Grace, and Penny is the second girl-child because Grace has to be all responsible and the oldest sibling type and take care of penny and Penny is going to be who i was in my family- kind of the odd crazy tomboying artist who lives in a leotard and a tinkerbell skirt and giant t-shirts. I guess I'll just have to wait and see in June who comes first.
I've just had so many dreams about Grace. Like, before I married Brandon I had dreams about her (at the time they FREAKED me out because I was like, " IM SINGLE, IM IN COLLEGE, IM NOT YOUR MOTHER!")
But my mom when she had lachelle was going to name her jacqueline and my older brother chris (praise the lord) came into the room and said NO THIS IS LACHELLE! which ended up working out because my mom said she had a dream that she had a dark headed jacqueling and a blond lachelle and even though i was born blond and lachelle was born dark headed look at us now! i have dark hair and im her jacqueling and lachelle has blond hair and is her lachelle!
and everyone lived happily ever after.
maybe chris should decide if grace is grace or penny-
he's gifted like that.

human fannypack
Being pregnant is like having a human fannypack with you all the time, but you don't feel silly wearing it (her?).
Yesterday I went and picked up some fabric at joanns to begin making our children's first mobile (i hope i didn't pick too girly colors) and there was a mom shopping there with her two children, one was i would guess two and the other was four and the reason i knew he was four was because he was SCREAMING and then she started SCREAMING back at him. in public. The sad part was everyone in the whole store could hear what she was saying. and then the little girl started screaming. basically all three of them were screaming and she didn't just leave- she just pulled them through the whole store. and I'm not sure if I admire that... or if it's funny, or if I would have handled it differently but there sure were a lot of old women shaking their heads and muttering. I think, well, i hope- if my kid was throwing a HUGE fit in public, I would just say whelp it's time to go home and drop whatever I was doing to figure out what their deal was... in private.
hopefully.
It's easy to make totally unrealistic goals about being a mom when you aren't one yet. Because I know just from nannying full time 7 am to 7 pm and later sometimes, that children always throw you the loop and do things and say things you never expect and if you never expect them how can you plan on how you'll react? You can't!
Making this mobile will give me patience. Am I totally tooting the opposite horn every other day? "i hate sewing" "im gonna make a mobile out of cute fabric and a ton of other things!" "i hate sewing"
is there a pattern here?
anyways. I don't have a pattern to make this mobile so i just drew one up, and I'm calling it "elephants on parade"

and theeeese are the messes that have ensued. we temporarily have lost our kitchen table.

i was going to do ice cream cones... but then i thought that would send subliminal messages to our children and make them feel hungry all the time in their crib instead of in wonderment at something over their heads.
here are the beginnings of the elephants on parade- i need to find cotton balls and chopsticks and stuff them.

Puppy villain
Yesterday we had our friends the Goodwins over, their daughter lily is a genius. She is 16 months old and says "what's up dude".
They came over for two of brandon's sole pleasures in life- mama chus, and his recent one: the purchase and set up of a ... pricey gym.
Brandon loves to work out as much if not more than I love to shop. So, if you know me then you'll understand.
At first I was really sad he was buying a gym because images of Peanut dancing in my mind in dozens of 300 dollar dresses were zapped to death by future images of her doing power lifts and squats in the basement.
But then I thought about all the money I spent to console myself while he was in afghanistan... and I didn't feel bad anymore. Too bad none of that fits now!
Bring on the maternity. Also, if I ever meet a member of the first pres. of the church- I'm going to sit them down and have a little talk about the fit of women's g's. Maybe they've never tried them, so they can't know.
Candace was showing me last night all her cute sewing projects she has made for lily, like shoes and shirts, and skirts, and baby bumpers with ruffles. honestly the woman is crafty. how am i ever going to be like that? i hate (usually) sewing. I don't mind hand work, But the time taking, soul and wallet sucking, consumption of life makes me nauseated. Maybe smaller people clothes take less time and effort than adult clothes... because i've made a lot of adult clothes.
Last night dash really wanted to come meet everyone- his behavior is... about as bad as mine but he slobbers and jumps when he meets new people, and when new people are under the age of 2 i put him away in the laundry room. So he can't eat them. Where he cries.
Lily loves puppies, so she kept saying puppy? and then she would go over to his door and he would cry and lick her hand under the door and she would come back to the dinner table very distraught. I kept telling her it was puppie's nigh nigh time but- i became a villain of puppies in her eyes.
it was a good night, i ate too much, i stayed up too late, and i'm an anti-sewing, puppy villain.

pink elephants and snow
B was remarking about how the weather has been really fair this winter.

Yeah, that is three hours after he made that comment.
Wizard blizzard.
Also! hey, I forgot to tell you our ward theme this year is Holiness to the Lord, and we made plates at color me mine as reminders for our home of the theme. Brandon actually dedicated his to donuts. On the way to color me, he started singing "More Donut Holes Give Me" which really comes from his heart, and is what ended up on his plate. Mine just has polka dots and says More holiness give me, because I couldn't get the donut holes song out of my head.
I'm having huge issues on what color to paint peanut's nursery... please help me decide.

I know you can't really see the first one but it's just a really really light version of the second one. They are pretty elephant aqua-y blues. BUT PEANUT IS A GIRL (BUT WHAT'S MORE GIRLIE THAN A TIFFANY'S GREEN?!) don't worry, I'm putting up my pink anthropologie glass lanterns
(you can kinda see one in this picture in the corner- seriously unflattering of me but, the lantern in the corner is the one i'm talking about and they are pale pink... why didn't anyone get a picture of the cake with the lanterns?! oh well, it lives in my brain.
so im taking those from the wedding and making a tiny (because babies are little!) mobile to go inside/around them (i'm going to try to sew some pink elephants and balloons with different fabrics and hang em with fish wire or different white lace ribbons) AND her crib bumper is pink (well, the one I registered for), AND the windowseat cushion (once I find the fabric) is going to be pink too. And the english paper pieced quilt has a bunch of 50's pinks in it. and that goes on one wall.
But I didn't want to paint the whole nursery a color that was just girly because when other people live here I don't think they'll want a pink room. So, I tried to make it... beachable/neutral. BUT HELP ME, tell me which shade is better. oh and all the furniture is white/cream and one big hutch thing that is a deep honey brown and the carpet is dark brown.

twothree life lessons.
I learned two very important life lessons yesterday, actually three.
1. Never cook dinner in your underwear. Just in case number two happens and the police/fire department decides to drop in. (which they didn't but still)
2. Broiling a steak in a whirlpool 300 dollar oven on a factory programmed setting is a MUCH more different experience than broiling a steak in... whatever fancy oven we have in our parent's house... which is "full broil" which turns out is 500 degrees. unless you want to start a fire- change that setting. and get dressed. Cooking in your scanties pregnant is not sexy.
3. I realized that lately I've been really critical of others, particularly those I love- specifically B, and I was trying to figure out how I could... not be such a hack, and then I found a composition notebook and everyday instead of being mad about B not being able to spend time on me (i know, this is adult life right?) I write down all the things I'm thankful for in a letter to him for all the things he does for our family. And I realized his time is devoted to me in a round about way, and I'm glad for it even if it makes me feel like a lonely midlife crisis torn woman without kids or school or really a job in a big house. And I'm learning a lot about how if you treat somebody as who you see them- they become that person for you no matter how crunched they are for time.
the end. oh and I didn't come up with this last lesson on my own. I had some serious pushing from the big man upstairs.

uninvited.
It's sunday! Where did this week go? And is it coming back to haunt me in a different slower week?
Obagi update: I woke up yesterday morning after I used it the night before, and every blemish on my face was reduced to almost nothing. I kissed the bottles. Usually if I try something new on my face I get dry patches all over or I get super oily because my skin is like WHYYYY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME AGAIN?
So hearts and stuff to obagi for winning me over.
on a deeper note: the lucky charms are almost gone. Also, I'm like 98% positive that I've been sleeping poorly because Peanut is awake all night moving and dancing in her little bubble of fluid while I toss and turn. This would also explain why I haven't been feeling her during the day, shessreeping! Sorry peanut, you better change that habit up real fast before you get here. I'll give you... 18 weeks to do it.
Am I going to die?
Mothers who are on their second or thirds tell me I won't, but how do they know?! Just kidding, I think the best thing anyone has said to me yet was "be anxious, be worried, be yourself, and then on kid number two you can just relax and enjoy the ride."
Oh, but if you want to paint a room while pregnant- don't listen to the sherwin williams guy who says the fumes in the paint wont harm you or your future childbean, because he is a LIAR and if there is something wrong with peanut because I've been priming her room to death I'll go like a mother bear for blood. For reals.
On the back of the paint can he sold me in huge letters is "known to cause birth and reproductive defects"
sweet huh.
Def not inviting that guy to my baby shower.
:]
when we were little kids, my sister and i used to try to eat all the oat cereal out of our lucky charms so that all that was left in the milk were the marshmellows and I still can't do it without eating some marshmellows. Takes too much discipline. Guys, when am I going to grow up?! I have to be a mom soon! Okay, let me rephrase: I GET to be a mom soon! Does everything just come to you?! I need to take a birth class before I go crasy. That way I can be in a big boat full of all sorts of different newb mothers to be. And maybe I'll realize that my body was meant to do this and everything I feel and experience and think is normal and that I'm not going to be a terrible mom.
Why don't babies come with handbooks? I've read every book out there (almost), and it makes me feel worse!
On a happier note, i substituted wall primer for a big salad last night and i felt not so guilt ridden for maybe putting peanut in harms way for 5 or 6 hours.
I know all my non-prego mom to be friends are laughing at me for freaking out so badly about the paint thing right now, but just you wait you guys... you just fall in love so completely with this person inside you and your natural instinct is: i will do everything i can to protect and love this person no matter what, even abstain from impromtu dance sessions with your husband in the grocery store and at home and really let's be honest: everywhere else. And to you that's a sacrifice. And then you do something dumb like decide you can move a couch because you still have arms, or eat something that someone told you was a no no, or you cant keep your prenatals down, or maybe you prime a room for your child, or you clean too much and dont wear a mask...
and i promise: you will have that thought of "what if i'm killing/hurting my child?!"
and it's the scariest thought you will ever have.
until labor.
from what i hear.
we'll see.

OBAGI (oh.bah.jee)
so has anyone heard of this skincare company? My father in law recently went into business with them and I just got a big huge starter kit for their Obagi C RX system and I'm so excited to try it! I feel humbled because when I first saw their product I saw the older samples that are meant for older women and men- more of an anti- aging prescription grade without-the-prescription-looking bottle and I'm ashamed to say that I made fun of them and called the bottles old fashioned. I say ashamed because I really had no experience with the product, I didn't know who it was for or what it looked like or what it does... and then I got this starter kit (which retails for like 300 dollars- for free.) and it's for younger skin, and it came with a cute plum bag, and all the products are infused with Vitamin C which is the only antioxidant that helps your skin produce collagen (makes it firm and pretty). I'll let you know what the product does to my face after I use it for a while, I have really sensitive skin so it's hard for me to pick something new, but if it works for me I stick with it FOREVER. It would be nice to have all my face care in ONE brand, so that I don't have to go to ten different companies for ten different products that haven't been tested together. Does anybody else know anything about this company or know anyone who uses their products? I bet I could hook them up with awesome coupons and samples and stuff, Obagi is super loyal to it's costumers- who are super loyal to them back! I'm not trying to toot my dad's horn, I'm just being honest. So if you are looking for a new skin product, you should try obagi. It used to only be prescribed by dermatologists, but now it's on the market for every type of skincare you can imagine. Get some! or just check it out here
movements
yesterday i got to see peanut and all her parts
she has ten toes, two feets, two legs, two arms, a long pretty spine, two fists, a brain, kidneys, a bladder which was full, and a beautiful heartbeat and heart. she is face down and so it was hard to see her face, but i did see one eye and her nose and mouth.
and when i asked her to flip around so that we could see her better she stuck her fist over her ear. i cant hear you and i'm comfortable this way.
i'm serious.
i wish she would wave again and also that that placenta would move to the back so that i can feel her kicking and moving again more. that and my innards hurt.
i ran into my military wife trinity at the docs and her little boy said "bye babe" to me as i walked into the doctor's side of the office. it was awesome.
she weighs 18 oz. or almost three cups.

wait gain woes
oh weight gain... i thought i was doing good but alas, if i gain one pound per week for the rest of the pregnancy i will be... twenty pounds over what i'm supposed to be. looks like brandon has to eat all the cookies from here on out. :[
which stings all the more since neighbors brought me a big heaping plate of chocolate chip oatmeal cookies last night "to ease morning sickness" (?) (i'm still throwing up but not bad anymore!) (but now eating a whole big plate of cookies is going to make me better?!)
good thing b and me have been watching tv on the treadmill and stair stepper instead of on the couch?
i'm so sad i really thought i was doing awesome- i have 12 more pounds to gain until i'm where i should be but then i realized i have 20 weeks left?!
boo hiss.
!
also i thought of four more people who are prego.

are you pregnant?
wow, I realized today that I am 20 weeks and 5 days along, which is the halfway mark! Also yesterday in church I sat next to a lady due next week... and she was huge- I was like WHAT AM I GOING TO WEAR?! HOW AM I GOING TO BE CUTE LIKE HER? And a decision was made (besides stretchy pants which is a given) which Brandon fortunately agrees with the exception that I comb my hair every day: Mumus. Cardigans. Slippers. In a large variety. That's right people, I'm going above and beyond comfortable.
now I just have to go to DI. Just kidding. But part of me is almost serious.
At first getting big wasn't so bad because I could still fit in my pants and hide open buttons with rubber bands... bella bands... and oversized tshirts. (RIP Brandon's closet...) (at least a few really awesome graphic t's that are even awesomer blown up on a giant stomach...) and now- I seriously can't wear my pants. I'll have to put all my matchstick jcrew cords in the UNpregnant boxes I've been packing... along with all my beautiful dresses... Is it pathetic to admit that I cried packing all my clothes? I did.
Anyways, wardrobe aside- EVERYONE is pregnant?!
Here is a list of people I know who are pregnant right now, and folks- it's gonna be a baby boom. Baby fever!
Me
Jessica
Nicole
Kait
Erin
Kelly
Chelsey
Jess
Brianna
Michelle
Sarah
Stacy
Marcie
Amber
Krystal (just had her baby)
THAT'S FIFTEEN PEOPLE JUST OFF THE TOP OF MY BRAIN.
THAT'S CRAZY!
Church buildings are going to go up a few noise levels around here that's for sure.

Anyways, wardrobe aside- EVERYONE is pregnant?!
Here is a list of people I know who are pregnant right now, and folks- it's gonna be a baby boom. Baby fever!

Church buildings are going to go up a few noise levels around here that's for sure.

drippy songs
it's drippy outside and it took me four tries to get up the driveway into the garage- oh heated driveway- when will you work for me?
it feels like everybody i know is pregnant! good timing guys. its the most amazing feeling to have a person growing and changing inside your (well for me) (almost) stomach. (peanut is super high up in there) (which i think was smart of her to nest so high because now she can have room growing down and be done at the end and ready to come out!)
i know i've said it, and i'm going to say it over and over again- but i am so in love with her! she's my little girl, and i wish i had an ultrasound machine in my house so i could watch her waving and kicking and sucking her fingers and moving all day and listen to her beautiful heartbeat.
it's kind of life changing to know a mother's love.
there isn't anything like it in the world. it makes me appreciate my own mother so much more.
it also makes me a little crazy.
like, things make me cry that never ever made me cry before- movies (TANGLED?!), people (job searching is just hard), uncomfortable situations, baking, mail, flowers, snow. stuff like that.
and then there's stuff i want to do that is crazy like ice skating, moving boxes, couches, and other things (im not handicapped! im just pregnant!) freak dancing (this one is def off the list since i hurt my stomach last time i did it- and i dont mean dirty dancing i just mean dancing like a FREAK by myself next to brandon doing his own freak thing, which i recommend highly to any married or well, anybody. especially to the tune of body movin by beastie boys, i'm serious.) painting peanut's little bedroom, the fumes are terrible. and sledding. i really want to go sledding.
so santa, bring me sledding next year for christmas!
santa come early!
i had an epiphany yesterday about music. i was singing in the kitchen and it's been a while since i felt peanut move and she started doing her own groove thing and it was awesome! and i thought about how my love for music must have started when i was very young- probably in my moms tummy myself because my mom was ALWAYS singing, all the time. i love that.
peanut likes the piano too, and i'm trying hard to pick up where i left off when i was .... 9 years old? and had more important things to do (like hiding messages in the stone walls like the indians did in connecticut, which unfortunately turned into a sad thing because i was too small to understand that water destroys paper)
so piano took a back seat, especially since my older sister lachelle- who is the most brilliant pianist i know, was practicing at that time she was like 13 or so? she was practicing 3 HOURS A DAY. so there just wasn't time for me :]. which was fine with me...
she still can play so beautifully. and i... can play simple hymns... simply. :]
anyways, peanut likes my sad sight reading- good thing she has nothing to compare it to. it's good to hear music in a home again. brandon asks me why i didn't go into singing for my major while i was chopping up some veggies and i turned and told him that he knew why and that i cant preform for people, which started a new bout of aint that a shame- and then he told me to get over it and i told him to get over it. and peanut danced.

wonder years

“All our young lives we search for someone to love. Someone who makes us complete. We choose partners and change partners. We dance to a song of heartbreak and hope... all the while wondering if somewhere, somehow, there's someone perfect... who might be searching for us.”
- The Wonder Years

it's true. and there is.
for you anyway, i've already found mine and if you've found yours- then you're lucky too.
just thoughts
i've decided that if i'm eating cereal my dog has to be outside- otherwise he is circling me like a vulture, sticking his face as close to my bowl as possible- and yawning nasty dog breath into my pregnant nose.
i've decided that if brandon says he doesn't hate something i've cooked- then he definately dislikes it. which happily hasn't happened yet- with food.
i've decided i love to hear other couples arguments. especially if they are underlined with humor. it makes me feel normal.
i've decided that cooking raw meat while pregnant is a no for me.
i've decided that i haven't craved any crasy food/things while i've been prego- but i DO crave the things i crave normally times 100. (hide your chocolate.)
i've decided that my whole life, i like to look at inanimate objects for faces, or facial features. Like the bookcase in our bedroom has a back shelf where the wood grain looks like a skull upside down. And this morning one of brandon's pairs of pants looked like a set of giant lips.
i've decided i'm never moving anywhere without a dishwasher ever again.
i've decided if the chickens we got dont wisen up and get nice, i'm going to eat them.
(NOT little red.)

tryin the tex
so, me and texas? we don't get along. I need somebody (maybe someone who isn't ... texan-biased?) to give me some reasons why I shouldn't completely and TOTALLY LOATHE Texas.
And I don't want to hear any texan tooting gun shooting mouth offs who think Texas should be it's own country and is the greatest thing God ever put on the earth because that's exactly why I don't like texas.
If Mexico and China ever gang up on the US, I'm going to GIVE them Texas. For free. In fact, I've even thought about giving Texas away to ANYONE else because I don't like it that much.
Can anyone help me feel happy when I think of Texas?
As happy as I feel when I hear Enya?
I'd really appreciate it. I won't bad mouth it ever again if I can find one reason.

ring in the new ______s
PAH i'm not even going to organize these.

hooorayyyyyy! it's a new year! and my laundry is done.
i wish i had more photos of this christmas, we were spoiled rotten by the cochrans!
elaine built us a chicken coop for laying hens and now we have four of them.
this is little red
the other two are silver wyandottes and one arucana (they lay easter colored eggs, blue and green)
the wyandottes aren't very friendly... aren't they beautiful though? i'm not sure what happened to them to make them pecky at all the other hens and cranky but hopefully after they get to know me and little red and all the food, they will be nicer.
we have to wait until it gets warmer to paint the rest of the coop, it will be barn red with off white trim. and i want to make little curtains for their windows too.
it's insulated and has a heat lamp and heated water. spoiled things.
the back door for the chickies- in the spring we want to build a little run for them that is fenced in so they can semi free range and scratch without being eaten by any neighborhood cats.
and we may want chicks in the spring too i haven't decided yet because there is an incubator- somewhere!
and then around the run we want to plant an herb garden and strawberries.
i wish it wasn't too late to plant tulips EVERYWHERE, even though the deer like em and those are everywhere in this neighborhood too. :\
gotta plant some marigolds to keep them away- and hopefully the smell of DASH will help them stay away from our garden too. look how big he is getting. he's kinda a chunk when he's all curled up. he needs some friends... he loves the chickens (he'd like to have them for dinner...) but they don't return those feelings yet.
he loves the big back yard, he runs around like a crazy all day hunting birds, killing his stuffed animals for the 1234567890th time, and climbs in the playhouse to watch over his kingdom.
after christmas with the cochrans, we went to san diego! where it rained. but it was still GORGEOUS. we had off and on sun and it felt like tropical paradise, everything was so green and lush. brandon was in heaven watching football the whole time and stuffing ourselves silly.
we were spoiled there too! holy gift cards! i wont go into details here but, my family was really generous this year. AND i got the sweetest ernie beanie hat which i wore home on the plane and got way too much attention... i won't be making that mistake again- children are confused and excited about seeing one of the muppets on a grown persons head. also, apparently, flight attendants share these feelings.
it was a good end to the year, and i am so excited for this one! i had another ultrasound, and peanut is definately a girl- i saw her little face/profile and she is a doll.
i hope i haven't killed her by priming her room- in my defense, i did it with the window open and the paint man said there wasn't anything in the paints that would harm me or baby... but still i suspect i was inhaling too many fumes and later i helped myself by having a panic attack about it.
oh pregnancy. how i wish you were done. but i can't complain! this part has been flying by!
in contrast, unpacking has been ... unflying... by. and i wish it was done! but look at the beautiful house we are staying in! also, i haven't even thought of taking down our christmas tree yet. look how big it is, i love it.

Forcause
For anybody who ever wished I would gain weight from all the stuff I eat that isn't good for me.
Eat this up.

In the most proudly shameful way I admit now that I weigh more than I ever ever ever have in my whole life right now. 147. And that's not even the holidays people! At least this year my new years resolution is to get all the babymamma weight off AFTER baby peanut makes her debut into this beautiful saturated world.
This pregnancy is flying by.
OH and anybody get the new nordies magazine?!? I am EXCITED OUT OF MY BRAINS BECAUSE there is finally rose gold jewelry and watches!!!!! (okay the watches cost like 500 dollars each... the cheapest one was 250 thanks mk sheesh) this means now I can wear pretty jingley jangly things and bangly things and they will match my wedding ring. yesesyeyeyesssss. celebrate with me by buying me everything.
just kidding.
but seriously buy yourself something pretty- you deserve it.
Eat this up.

and so it goes.
Well folks, I am back in utah, and back to saying "folks" which is something that totally comes from being around my mom. Brandon had his first day of school at UVU he even rode the bus all by hisself. (so cute).
It's visiting places like sandy eggo that beg me to ask myself why I live somewhere bitterly cold in the wintertime. We got off the plane and went to our long term parking to find the car dead (and even though that was my fault i'm blaming utah), and then we couldn't get up the driveway when we got home (not my fault). Utah, you are beautiful and terrible and warmer than Rexburg Idaho. Thank you Jesus.
I have a memorycardload of photos from vacation but I can't find my cord. This morning we went outside and found two brown eggs from our little red hen in her little coop! We are so proud. Seriously. I need to take pictures of the disaster our house is and the hen and dash- he is getting so big I can't even believe it. I'll wait to take pics of the coop until it is ready because we only have it primed for the pretty red paint and cream trim!
It's a good thing this house has a dishwasher and three sets of washers and dryers otherwise I'm not sure what I would be doing today besides unpacking. Peanut is getting so big (my front.) and we see her officially again to "find out the sex" even though we already did (tee hee!) on friday at my new OBG's office. I'm not sure how I feel yet about having a guy for my OB but a lot of women do, so I shouldn't worry too much about it. I just keep thinking about the old guy I had before I got married and how uncomfortable he was. Plus I like the girl talk and general frankness that women OBs have. In my limited experience.
Juan is upstairs building a doorway from our section of the house to the bathroom and peanuts room. It's a disaster there too. I'm afraid I'm gonna step on a nail.
This house is really weird, during the day it is almost completely silent, but during the nighttime brandon and I wake up all night to the strangest sounds (this is in spite of a loud fan AND earplugs for me). I don't even think brandon slept last night, everytime I woke up he was sitting up looking around (kind of a nice switch for me). It sounds like people are walking through the house at night or hitting things. In my brainscicle, I know this is the furnace and other things I'm not aware of yet- but seriously it is freaky. I told brandon I think the house is haunted. Maybe it's just too big for us.
Today I sold my vintage cream desk that I restored and re-papered. I'm kind of sad to see it go but at least it's going somewhere cool. It had a rough time getting here from rexburg... so it needs a repainting and some love but- I sure am going to miss it, and I remember what a hideous wreck it was when I first got it.
As for new years resolutions- along the train of thought "restoring old ugly wrecks"- brandon and me have decided that we are going to use a reward system to be successful. And I honestly think it will work. When I was little, a dentist came and spoke at school and gave us a brushing calendar and stickers, and if we brushed and flossed every single day three times a day we got a cool electric toothbrush and you can bet your freaking minted dollar that I had a sticker on every single day for that month. I didn't have a cavity until I was 16. Anyways. So I'm making a chart for scripture reading and exercise for me, and I'm going to find super awesome star stickers and smiley faces for my chart.
also, my in-laws gave us season tickets to Hale Theater and I am so excited because that's the perfect date night!
Welp, gotta go run to get brandon from his first day of school (the bus system stops at 6 here I think) and then I made homemade chili for dinner (thanks mom) hope it turns out alright...
