rapture

the last three days have been the BEST! we love rexburg so much, I can't believe how much I missed being here. The nights smell like summer, and I feel like I'm camping out 24/7 (except we get to come home to our beautiful new bed and house) brandon has been so good helping me hang up everything- eating raspberry rhubarb jam and riding our bikes everywhere. At night the pool is open swim so we go and there is always an interesting group of people and kids playing and swimming. the first night we went a father was there helping teach all his boys how to swim (it was awful cute) and we swam for an hour and then worked out for an hour. Brandon has decided to do an iron man (someday) and i am behind him almost 100% (with two jobs, school and me and dash he has his hands pretty full...)(and i worry because thats what im good at!) so we were at the gym until almost midnight, and i admit that i totally fell asleep on a crunch mat and drooled. At about eleven thirty i remembered as i stumbled up the gym steps that we had ridden our bikes to the gym... no bueno- but it was fun with endorphins and exhaustion creeping over us in the dark bumpy roads laughing in the sprinklers and teetering home. Yesterday I remembered that brandon's bike has an old light on the front of it so we put some D batteries in it and the thing still works! So last night wasn't such a dark bumpy road home (kinda still bumpy since hey- it's rexburg and construction is one of the four seasons of the year).

Sleep has been bliss after workouts like that.

And I admit breakfast portions have grown.
My mom told me the recipe for her "green drink" every year or so my mother goes on a homeopathic food rampage and declares all carbs and sugars out of her diet (it must be why she looks so young...please please please let me have those genes) like when we were young, she went through a phase where all she cooked was homemade soups... which was nice until summer came (in connecticut), and then she went through this thing where if anyone even so much as sniffled we had to be doused in echinacia (cone flower) remedies (tea, drops, etc.) honestly the stuff is so bitter i think i drank more honey than echinacia that year...anyhow. then she found this drink called superfood (she gave me a bottle of the pills because i couldnt drink the stuff without gagging, she used to mix it with v8 juice every morning and give it to me, she swore the stuff kept us all alive and truthfully i didnt get sick at all those years in highschool. so maybe it works!) when i went to college i still had those pills and i wrote superpoop on the outside which made for an interesting story once my roommates found it. the stuff is like, every green thing on the planet (seriously) compacted into a green powder. it's... let's just say i can't drink plain v8 juice anymore without gagging at the memory. and now she has this green drink that is a homemade spinach smoothie with flax seed and strawberries and (semi-normal) stuff. so i asked her what the recipe was because brandon was interested and its actually not bad. it tastes like you are drinking a salad.
so we've been drinking this after the gym each night and it's incredible.
i feel like a new person.

today we are selling my car (hopefully) a guy and his wife are driving from twin falls to come look at it.
i'm excited and sad at the same time.
the house is amazing we broke in the oven with a pizza (almost burnt the house down...) and our neighbors above us are hilarious.

i'll have to write about that another time
toodle pip!

Dash--is doing great. HE decides which dog dish to eat out of and Kayla gets the scraps. For now, Dash-- has decided Kayla's food is better, but that is okay, because Kayla is happy eating his tiny bits and is grateful to get to eat anything. Their big adventure today was helping me load bundles of firewood into the car to take to Alison's for her camping grip. Dash--was with me every step of the path. He was very happy riding in back with his ears flapping in the breeze on our way to deliver the wood--but took a pit stop at the Cherapple house, and decided not to leave until I had finished the errand on my own. Vacations--you just don't want to leave. But, so you know you are missed, every time he comes into the house, he runs down stairs to check your room, then turns and pouts his way back up the stairs slowly.
