Alright, I'm no movie critic but I have to give a few words concerning the new work release of the lovely bones
which came out in theaters this weekend.
It was terrible.
Pros: I think they did a good job trying to make sure the story stayed relatively upbeat and happy.
Cons: The director used way way too many phsychadelic new wave electronic additions that didn't seem unworldly- they just seemed creepy.
Pros: The little girl who played Suzie salmon was beautiful and exactly how I pictured her in the book.
Cons: The acting of both parents was awful, their sadness was cornbally and fake.
Pros: there aren't any more (the pedophile was awesome but... that sentence alone explains itself)
Cons: I feel like the people in this movie really wanted to target indie kids who read the lovely bones when they were in like sixth grade, and they failed. The movie wanted to go green, or go somewhere... that no movie had really gone before and there's a REASON for that.
It made me sick, dizzy, and nervous. It was like charlie and the chocolate factory met the butterfly effect and had children- which should NEVER happen.
And more than anything confused about my own interpretation about the book- which i loved. in sixth grade okay? \
I loathe when people take a book that I liked and turn it into a movie that I dislike. very much.
The metaphor of the lovely bones was completely lost.
There were so many loose ends that were mentioned but never closed...
BLECH I give it negative three stars.
No thank you google for giving it four and a half stars.
you fail.

Totally agree. No good films were made during the 70s and this proves that no good films are made immitating 70s film styles.
No more bellbottoms, Dodge Darts or dancing in psycodelic fogs, please.
