allabout it

phew this summer has been a crazy busy.

i almost feel like we've been running like chickens with our heads cut off from one state to the next- from wyoming to utah to arizona and next week to california. and all travels with this little tiny grace who is not so little or tiny anymore and is growing entirely too fast for my brain to understand fully.

last weekend we had the chance to drive ten hours to see brandon's birth father craig sanders' parents who are living in lakeside arizona. grace was an angel the whole way there and back and the drive was beautiful. it was very special to be with them and feel craig's spirit still living strongly in their love for him and his posterity. it is easy to see where brandon gets his guts of steel and heart of fluff from now. brandon's father died when he was about two years old from the bubonic plague and he is sorely missed. it will be a good day someday to meet him on the other side but for now we feel content and blessed to have his spirit among our family. it was wonderful to have all the siblings together for this purpose. i love brandon's family and now i know more people to love!

grace has developed a pitiful cry and pouty face when i stop feediing her to burp her. its sort of hilarious! this girl is SERIOUS about her food. like her mama and dad. she loves out of all the seats and swings and rockers we got her- the old jungle swing grandma elaine brought down to the house the most and she sleeps in it while i get yardwork done with grandma. today i am covered in wood stain we did the playhouse, the arbor, and the rockingchair which desperately needed a new coat/stain.

i can almost hear the wood slurping up that stain.

grace's blessing is on sunday! we have a ton of family coming and if i could feed more people i'd invite the whole world but between my family and brandons i think there arent enough crockpots to ask anyone else.

grace is wearing my baby blessing dress and mayyybe some old shoes i had too but i havent decided yet because they are cream with pink trim and lace and the dress is white. i used to hesitate mixing the two but ive seen it more and more recently the cream and white combo so we'll see when the dress gets here from home!

today we had the carpets cleaned and the roofer came for his estimate to begin next week, so much going on.

does anyone have recommendations on costco sheet cake? preferences?

okie i sleepy now. grace is laughing and trying to nurse and sleep all at once. this baby is honestly the happiest sweetest thing ive ever seen. she recognizes b and me now and smiles a LOT. still no giggles outloud except tiny chuckles in snatches and pieces, and a ton of cooing which is adorable. when i stick my tongue out at her she sticks hers back at me, such a lady! cant wait to introduce grace to her first giant tub- our pool in my backyard at home and her grandpa francis this weekend and sister lacheellee! see you soon san diego.
