on sunday we had a sprinker pipe explode because someone didn't turn off the water for winter. (everyone says its someone else and nobody wants to admit it- so naturally b and me feel like it's our fault.) we came home and the backyard was FLOODED. at first i thought, how nice, the snow is melting... into a pool?!
it ran down the stairs into the basement.
so b and me, being of course naturally previous homeowners nowhere forgot to look in the basement to see if water had leaked in.
water has leaked in.
ere where.
so we called a carpet cleaner peoples who came over and said, no uh this is an insurance job, so we called insurance who said ummm we probably dont cover that thanks for paying us every month for nothing and we'll call you back-not.
so last night it was me, b, and mama c, shop vacuuming, ripping up the carpet and pulling out soaking wet carpet pad.
installing a giant fan, all of our food storage is propped under the carpet to keep the airflow.
and
just if you were wondering, people charge 800 dollars for that.
so next time it happens to you call us! just kidding please dont but i'll sympathize if you do.
this morning i woke up and walked down the stairs and found a whole peanut sitting at the bottom of the stairwell.
it made me really happy.
i'd like to dip that peanut in resin, and frame it and put it in peanut's room.
and even though it feels like friday, happy thursday to you all.
